DEPARTMENT PROFILE

The Department of Science & Humanities proves to be the basis for the engineering studies. It lays a strong foundation for the academic development of the students. It comprises the Dept. of English, Dept. of Mathematics, Dept. of Physics and Dept. of Chemistry. This is the department with unity in diversity.
The department of English has the communication skills lab that quenches the communication thirst of students with the latest software as per the instructions of Anna University, Chennai. It is also supported by the recent technological instruments viz., Digital Handicam, Television, Audio system, Headsets etc. It demolishes the barriers of the students in their communication aspect.
The department of Mathematics with its efficient, dedicated faculty caters to the academic needs of the students.
The department of Chemistry, with its finely tuned experiments, introduces the basic chemical laboratory techniques and core chemical principles to meet the requirements of different branches of Engineering and Technology and also guides the students to cope with several instrumental and non-instrumental methods of chemical analysis appropriate to many industries like Water Technology, Metallurgy, Polymer Chemistry and Spectroscopy.
The department of Physics is modernized with necessary equipments and the state-of-art laboratory. Engineering, being the science of measurement, has been the offspring of Physics and so this department plays the primary role in moulding the students in tune with their engineering study and serves them with experiments related to properties of Matter, Heat, Light, Electricity, Magnetism and Modern Physics.
