DEPARTMENT PROFILE
This is one of the indispensable departments of the Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering and Technology. Department imparts excellent quality education in the area of Applied Science (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Environmental Science etc.) and Humanities (Economics & Management, English, Communication skills etc.) for the future technocrats of all streams and enhances innovative thinking among the students. The Department has well equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry and communication skills. The Department also promotes study and research in new and emerging areas and encourages the academic interaction of the faculty and students at national and international levels. Most of the faculty members of the Department are engaged in research and publish their research work in the reputed national/international journals regularly. To this end, the Department encourages close collaboration with industry and facilitates the application of research for commercial use and for the benefit of the society. It organizes regular research seminars once a month where one or the other faculty member or special resource persons from various industries reports about his research work or gives a talk on a topic of general interest. There is an Active role of the department in all the activities like college administration, Examination, etc.The department has been giving best results continuously for last various years & same is expected this year too. The department also emphasizes on improving the communication skills of the students by organizing regular group discussion for the students of all the four years. The labs are well equipped with latest electronic instruments, a proper dark room in physics lab. The department plans for implementing the projects obtained from various organizations like AICTE, DST, UGC and UOR etc
