The Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering & Technology engages in carrying out research of significance and development of cutting edge technology. It imparts training to students so that they become competent and motivated engineers and scientists. It covers all major academic disciplines. Faculty and students are actively involved in research and it also involves in getting Sponsored projects which will allow new resources to be created in the department

• Rs.50,000 has been sanctioned by the Department of Biotechnology under the Ministry of Science & Technology for conducting National Conference on Application of Stem Cell therapy in Medicine & Dentistry Current and Future Scenario in India to Department of Biotechnology which was conducted on 23rd & 24th January 2012.

• Rs.1,00000 has been sanctioned by the All India Council for Technical Education under the Ministry of Human Resources for conducting National Conference on Application of Regenerative Medicine in Modern Health Care Current perspective & Future Frontiers to our Department of Biotechnology which was conducted on 11th & 12th August 2011.

• Rs.10,00000 has been sanctioned to the Department of Biotechnology under MODROB Scheme of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) under Ministry of Human Resources to modernize the Advanced Bio Chemistry Lab.

• Rs.75,000 has been sanctioned by the Department of Biotechnology under the Ministry of Science & Technology for conducting National Conference on Regenerative Medicine to our Department of Biotechnology which is going to be conducted on 10th to 11th March 2011.

• Rs.12,60,000 has been sanctioned by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy for setting up Biogas Plant for generation of Power in our college campus.

• Rs 50,000 has been sanctioned to the Department of Biotechnology by the Ministry of Information Technology for conducting National Workshop on the Application of Perl Scripting and Bioinformatics Tools and Techniques for Biological Databases during 4th to 6th October 2010.

• Rs.7, 49,300 has been sanctioned under Major Research Project Scheme entitled “Modulatory Effects of Resveratrol, a naturally occurring phytoalexin, on the expression of GLUT 4, PI 3 kinase, PEPCK, PPAR and related key regulatory enzymes in Rat L6 Skeletal Muscle cells” by University Grants Commission to Dr.D.Sathish Kumar, Professor & Head, Department of Biotechnology as a Co-Investigator in the above mentioned project.

• Rs.15 lakhs has been sanctioned to the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering under MODROB Scheme of AICTE to modernize the Embedded Systems and VLSI Lab.

• Rs.25, 000 has been sanctioned to Prof. V.Karthikeyan , Department of Biotechnology, Under Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) National Seminar Scheme. This seminar is to be organized on 11th and 12th March 2010.

• KVCET has become a Member in the Industrial Associateship Scheme of Anna University under the Center for University - Industry Collaboration.

• Vellore Institute of Technology - Technology Business Incubator (VIT –TBI) has chosen KVCET for organizing Villgro My Idea Programme for engineering students. This program was organized on 2nd March 2010. The selected winners were sent to IIT Madras for their presentation.

• Hyundai Motors India Limited has presented a car to KVCET to enable Research activities to the students in Automobile Engineering field.

• MOU was signed between Pondchy Pharmaceuticals, Pondicherry – 605110 and the Department of Biotechnology, KVCET, under the Industry - Institute Partnership.

• A visit was made by expert committee from Annamalai University on 16-02-2010 for recognition of KVCET as Ph.D research centre.
