• AICTE Sponsored National Conference on Applications of Regenerative Medicenes in Modern Healthcare - Current Prospectives and future frontiers - Second Phase to be organized by Department of Biotechnology on 11th and 12th August 2011 and that is being funded for Rs. 1 Lakh.

• A grant of Rs. 4 Lakhs has been sanctioned from AICTE under ministry of HRD for setting up Enterpreneurship Development Cell in Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering and Technology.

• National Conference on "Regenerative Medicine in Health Care - Current Perspective and Future Frontiers" on 10th and 11th March, 2011. Sponsored by the Department of Bio-technology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi.

• Rs.75,000 has been sanctioned to our College Department of Biotechnology by the Department of Biotechnology under the Ministry of Science & Technology for conducting National Conference on Regenerative Medicine which is going to be conducted on 10th to 11th March, 2011.

• Rs.12,60,000 has been sanctioned by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, for setting up Biogas Plant for generation of Power in our college campus.

• Rs 50,000 has been sanctioned to the Department of Biotechnology by the Ministry of Information Technology for conducting National Workshop on Application of Perl Scripting and Bioinformatics Tools and Techniques for Biological Databases during 4th to 6th October 2010.

• Dr.V.Ilangovan has taken over charge as the Principal, Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering and Technology on 18-02-2010.

• Rs.7, 49,300 has been sanctioned under Major Research Project Scheme entitled “Modulatory Effects of Resveratrol, a naturally occurring phytoalexin, on the expression of GLUT 4, PI 3 kinase, PEPCK, PPAR r and related key regulatory enzymes in Rat L6 Skeletal muscle cells” by University Grants Commission to Dr.D.Sathish Kumar, Professor & Head, Department of Biotechnology as a Co-Investigator in the above mentioned project.

• Rs.15 lakhs has been sanctioned to the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering under MODROB Scheme of AICTE to modernize the Embedded Systems and VLSI Lab.

• Rs.25, 000 has been sanctioned to Prof.V.Karthikeyan, Department of Biotechnology, under Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) National Seminar Scheme. This seminar is to be organized on 11th and 12th March, 2011.

• KVCET has become a Member in the Industrial Associateship Scheme of Anna University under the Center for University - Industry Collaboration.

• Vellore Institute of Technology - Technology Business Incubator (VIT –TBI) has chosen KVCET for organizing Villgro My Idea Programme for Engineering Students. This program is to be organized on 2nd March 2011.

• MOU was signed between Pondchy Pharmaceuticals, Pondicherry – 605110 and KVCET, Department of Biotechnology under Industry- Institute Partnership.

• Hyundai Motors India Limited has presented a car to KVCET to enable Research activities to the students in the Automobile Engineering field.

• A Symposium on “Charisma – 10 “ by the Department of CSE on 26-02-2010
• A Symposium on “ Cynnaxios - 2010 “ by the Department of IT on 03-03-2010
• A Symposium on “Magnum Opus 10” by the Department of Mechanical on 24-02-2010
• A Symposium on “SPIKY 2010 “ by the Department of MCA on 05-03-2010

• Internship Training was provided to MBA students by SRIRAM VALUE on 12-02-2010

• A visit by expert committee from Annamalai University on 16-02-2010 for recognition of KVCET as Ph.D research centre

• Career Guidance Program to +2 students was inaugurated by Mr.Irai Anbu I.A.S. and Dr.D.Viswanathan, former V.C Anna University, Chennai on 31-01-2010

• Mr.S.A.Ramesh Kumar AP/CSE was the runner in the Inter Collegiate Carrom competition conducted at St.Joseph Engineering College on 06-02-2010.

• Dr.S.Selladurai, NSS Coordinator, Anna University, Chennai delivered a valedictory address at NSS camp at Chitthananchery and Sithandi Mandapam. The camp was conducted for a week from 29-01-2010 to 04-02-2010.

• An Expert Lecture on “Nano Materials and Nano Sciences” was delivered on 16-02-2010 by Dr.K.A.Padmanaban, an eminent scientist and world renowned researcher. Our Advisor Dr.D.Viswanathan presented a felicitation address.

• Shri K.Babu, an eminent personality with 40 years of Industrial experience, delivered an enlightening lecture on “5S plan “ for Mechanical and ECE Students on 3-02-2010 and for IT students on 5-02-2010.

• Thiruchelvam, Technical Consultant (.Net) Orange Computer Education, Chengalpet, delivered a guest lecture on .Net and SQL Server for the Students of 3rd year IT Department on 06-01-2010.

• G.Shobana, Associate Consultant in Embedded Systems, UTL Technologies Limited, Chennai delivered a guest lecture on “Embedded Systems” for 3rd year Students on 07-01-2010.

• S.Kirithiga, Associate Consultant in Embedded Systems, UTL Technologies Limited, Chennai delivered a guest lecture on “Operating System and LINUX” for 2nd year IT students on 07-01-2010.
