1. Dr.V.Ilangovan has taken over charge as Principal, Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering and Technology on
18-02-2010.
2. Rs.7, 49,300 has been sanctioned under Major Research Project Scheme entitled “Modulatory effects of
Resveratrol, a naturally occurring phytoalexin, on the expression of GLUT 4, PI 3 kinase, PEPCK, PPAR r and related
key regulatory enzymes in Rat L6 Skeletal muscle cells” by University Grants Commission to Dr.D.Sathish Kumar,
Professor & Head, Department of Biotechnology as a Co-Investigator in the above mentioned project.
3. Rs.15 lakhs has been sanctioned to Mrs. Ramalatha Marimuthu , Professor & Head, Department of Electronics and
Communication Engineering under MODROB Scheme of AICTE to Modernize the Embedded Systems and VSLI Lab.
4. Rs.25, 000 has been sanctioned to V.Karthikeyan, Assistant professor, Department of Biotechnology, Under Indian
Council of Medical Research (ICMR) National Seminar Scheme. This seminar is yet to be organized on 11th and
12th March 2010.
5. KVCET has become a Member in the Industrial Associateship Scheme of Anna University under Center for
University - Industry Collaboration.
6. Vellore Institute of Technology - Technology Business Incubator (VIT –TBI) has chosen KVCET for organizing Villgro
My Idea Programme for engineering students. This program is yet to be organized on 2nd March 2010.
7. MOU was signed between Pondchy Pharmaceuticals, Pondicherry – 605110 and KVCET, Department of
Biotechnology under Industry Institute Partnership.
8. Hyundai Motors India Limited has presented a car to KVCET to enable Research activities to the students in automobile Engineering field.

17. Dr.S.Selladurai, NSS Coordinator, Anna University, Chennai delivered a valedictory address at NSS camp at Chitthanchery and Sithandi Mandapam. The camp was conducted for a week from 29-01-2010 to 04-02-2010.
18. An Expert lecture on “Nano Materials and Nano Sciences” was delivered by Dr.K.A.Padmanaban an eminent
scientist and world renowned researcher on 16-02-2010. Our Advisor Dr.D.Viswanathan presented a felicitation
address.
19. Shri K.Babu, an eminent personality with 40 years of Industrial experience, delivered an enlightening lecture on “5S
plan “ for Mechanical and ECE Students on 3-02-2010 and for IT students on 5-02-2010.
20. Thiruchelvam, Technical Consultant (.Net) Orange Computer Education, Chengalpet, delivered a guest lecture on .Net and SQL Server for 3rd year IT Department Students on 06-01-2010.
21. G.Shobana, Associate Consultant in Embedded, UTL Technologies Limited, Chennai delivered a guest lecture on
“Embedded Systems” for 3rd year Students on 07-01-2010.
22. S.Kirithiga, Associate Consultant in Embedded, UTL Technologies limited, Chennai delivered a guest lecture on
“Operating System and LINUX” for 2nd year IT students on 07-01-2010.
