The Department of Biotechnology conducted National Conference on “Applications of Regenerative Medicine in Modern Healthcare – Current Perspectives and Future Frontiers - Second Phase ” sponsored by AICTE, Govt. of India, New Delhi, held on 11 and 12 August 2011 in college Conference Hall. The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Mangesh Virkar, Medical Director, Life cell International limited, Chennai delivered the Inaugural address. Mr. Srinivasan and Mr. Thamarai Kannan (NCRM, Chennai) delivered invitation lecture on 11 March 2011.

On the second day (12 March 2011) Dr.Sankaranarayanan, Professor and Head, Dept of Oral Pathology, KIDS, Chennai was the special Invitee delivered the invitation lecture on Stem cell therapy in Medicine and Dentistry. 15 oral papers and 9 posters were presented in the seminar. 53 participants from Tamilnadu and Karnataka put forth their efficient participation in the conference.

Finally valediction and prize distribution session was presided over by Dr. Dedeepiya Devaprasad, Asst Director, NCRM,Chennai. V.Karthikeyan (Organising secretary of the conference) delivered the vote of thanks.
