International conference -I

The two day international conference on biomedical instrumentataion, engineering and environmental management began with a welcome address by Dr.V.Ilangovan, Principal, K.V.C.E.T. Mrs. Meenakshi Annamalai, Director, KVCET, delivered the presidential address of the inauguration function. The chief guest Dr. G. Giridhar,Director, center for wind energy, Chennai gave the inaugural address .He spoke about the alternative sources of energy and setting up of automatic weather stations at different parts of the country. Dr.Megasingh Rtd., Prof IIT, Chennai delivered a lecture on lasers in medicine. He highlighted on how laser are used in the treatment of several diseases. Later on there was a technical session -I on biomedical instrumentation in which 10 papers were presented. In the afternoon there was an invited lecture II by Dr.Pradeep kumar sinha on "Radioactive waste management -The Indian scenario". He spoke about the different wastes of industry, how wastes could be disposed without harming the environment. After the lecture by Dr. Pradeep kumar Sinha, there was technical session-II on engineering management chaired by Dr.Pradeep kumar sinha and Prof. Nirmal Joseph.
The second day of the international conference began with a invited lecture by Dr. M. Ravichandran, Prof. and Head, Department of environmental management Bharthidasan University, Trichy on "Recent development on the environmental front in India". He spoke about the environmental challenges faced by India. He also supported his lecture with statistical data. The lecture was followed by Technical session -III on environmental management chaired by Dr.M.Ravichandran and Dr.K.Jayaprakash, with 9 papers presented in this session. Later on there was an invited lecture IV by Dr.G.S.Kandasami, Principal Sri Venkateshwara college of Technology on "Acoustic emission technology for post orthopedic surgery. Dr.G.S.Kandasami and Prof. Ramalingam on biomechanical engineering, 6 papers were presented in the session. Dr.Ramasamy, Dean, R&D, SSN college of Engineering presided the valedictory function and gave valedictory address and distributed the certificates.
